Fun in the San Fran Sun!

Fun in the San Fran Sun! 1

Hello from San Francisco!

Our journey on the beautiful West Coast is underway! We touched down in San Francisco and walked into a pocketful of sunshine. On our first evening, we explored the colorful and lively streets of Chinatown, filled with Chinese lanterns and the enticing aromas and flavors of amazing cuisine. Soup-filled dumplings and good fortune all around!

Next up, we went to jail (just visiting)! The boat ride to Alcatraz gave us amazing views of the San Francisco waterfront. Once we arrived on the island, we were off to experience the history and stories behind one of the most famous prisons in history. Exploring the prison grounds, our group found multiple prison cells where previous criminals had resided, and we took some great photos behind the bars! After exploring the island of Alcatraz, we made our way to the stunning Oracle Park for a ball game between the Giants and Diamondbacks. The weather couldn’t have been better and our cheers and excitement rallied the Giants to win the ball game while munching on all the classic stadium treats. All the cheering definitely worked up our appetites and we headed off to Pier 39 to enjoy dinner later that night. Many of us also sampled the famous sourdough bread bowls at the famous Boudin Bakery, a San Francisco classic! The day ended with a sweet treat at Ghirardelli Square for amazing chocolate and ice cream, and then we hit the greens for some competitive mini-putt!

Our final day in San Francisco ended with an early morning visit to the Golden Gate bridge, which we walked all the way across while taking in the breathtaking views of San Francisco. Shortly after, the sun broke through the fog just in time for our visit to the quaint town of Sausalito. We all enjoyed strolling down the boardwalk and this charming town left us with an amazing taste of what California living is all about! We headed back downtown to weave our way through the winding sidewalks of Lombard street. After a long day on our feet, we were treated to a relaxing ride through the city on a vintage cable car. A little friendly competition mixed in with some silliness and fun times at the bowling alley was a great way to unwind and finish off our stay in the Bay.

Stay tuned to hear about our upcoming adventures!
