Active Teen Tours
Teen tours are where it all started in 1982 and they’re still our most popular! You’ll meet plenty of new friends as you experience amazing activities and explore must-see destinations in the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.
If you love adventure travel, you’ll love our Global Adventures! Venture to bucket-list destinations in Australia, Ecuador, Europe, New Zealand, Peru, Thailand, Vietnam, Canada and even here in the USA. Explore different cultures, try something new, and connect with your fellow adventurers!
Travel is about more than the destination. It can help you become a more well-rounded person, develop essential life skills, and inspire your future. By embracing new experiences, you open yourself up to opportunities for personal growth that are hard to come by in the classroom alone.
Our programs allow teens to experience a greater sense of independence in a safe and structured environment. Encouraging participants to step out of their comfort zone builds confidence at an ideal age where finding oneself is key to personal growth.
Research shows that developing familiarization with new cultures increases young peoples’ tolerance and respectfulness. It can give them the tools they need to be more accepting of others, raise their awareness of world issues and make them more appreciative.
The friendships made while sharing our unforgettable experiences are unlike any other. Our staff are trained to create a comfortable environment where teens can truly be themselves and easily connect with others right from the start.
According to this study by the Student Youth Travel Association (SYTA), students who travel demonstrate a greater willingness to learn and attend college. Traveling before college can help guide teens' college and career decisions by allowing them to explore their interests and figure out what drives them.
Do you separate different age groups?
It depends on the program, so it’s always best to contact us. On some programs, we assign a specific departure date by age group to create the best possible social dynamics. For example, if grades 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 are listed on a program, note they will not all be traveling together on the same departure.
To find the programs with exclusive age-specific departures, look for tags saying “middle school” for students completing 7th and 8th grades, or “ON TOUR” for students completing 11th and 12th grades.
Who are the staff and what are their qualifications?
Our staff are educators, guidance counselors, coaches, college and university students, former camp counselors, residence life coordinators, community volunteers, world travelers, and other leaders with diverse backgrounds. Many are former participants themselves who couldn’t get enough of the Westcoast experience! Learn more about our summer leaders.
What if I need to contact my teen during the program?
Participants may bring their cell phones so parents may call and message their kids directly. You may also contact our Communication Centers which serve as the official link between programs on the road and parents. We are staffed every day during the summer and have somebody on call for after hours emergencies ready to assist you 24/7.
