Jordana and Matt here, reporting from very lovely Italy. Our first stop after Cinque Terre was the magnificent island of Venice. Jordana’s learned to love pigeons while we visited San Marcos Square. The boys enjoyed some quality time on the gondola ride where Jake made us all laugh with his quick wit. After taking a guided tour of the synagogue and Jewish Quarter, Mitchell really enjoyed the kosher bakeries we visited after the tour.
Next we were off to Florence. At the leather market Lara and Rachel used their bargaining skills to purchase matching purses. Later in Florence, we admired the statue of David. Matt was surprised by the enormous nature of the sculpture (it is 13 feet in height).
The next stop in our adventure was Sorrento. Before arriving in Sorrento, we made a quick stop in Pompeii, where Cindy was surprised to by amount of ruins that still remained. Once we arrived in Sorrento we took a boat cruise around Capri. While swimming in the grottos of the coast Ethan showed off his cannon ball abilities beating Mitchell in a competition.
Our final stop was Rome. We toured the Coliseum and the Vatican. Jimmy was entranced by the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel he did not want to leave. It has been a fantastic 28 days-the friends we made, the sights we have seen and the memories that will stay with us forever.
We say goodbye to you one last time:
