The Californian Extravaganza has begun! The group has been enjoying themselves in Boulder for the past few days, and many of the trip members have taken a liking to this awesome town. Lauren W commented on how much she enjoyed the chill atmosphere of the town.
For the first two days, Ice breakers were the name of the game. Remi was the winner of ninja, a game of speed and reflexes. During human bingo, Andew Cl. shared his awesome skydiving story, and we learned that Abbie has won a gold medal skiing. Olivia, Amanda, Arianna, and Jen taught everyone the gesture game, where a sound, motion, or gesture gets whirled around.
Great food and great laughs were shared at dinner (the Sink) as everyone preserved the moment in time by taking part in the culture of the restaurant by signing their names on the ceiling. Jeremy, Amanda, Zoey, and Daniel bowled over the competition at bowling. Jeremy came alive in the last few frames finishing strong with strikes. Billiards was enjoyed by all. Spencer M, and Hugo played a competitive game, and they all made some pretty tricky shots.
While on Pearl Street, we saw some performers and contortionists, adding the perfect show to our delicious lunches. The boulder creek bike path served up some beautiful views and gave us a chance to see Misha pop some wheelies. He made it look easy!
Everyone has been in love with, and laughing over the super high tech, Eco friendly water fountain at the CU boulder dorms. The water is triple filtered, and the fountain displays the number of plastic bottles that have been saved by using it. Everyone has been lining up, and lining up again trying to get the number to 1000.
At Elitch Gardens, Ryan, Noah and Jason tried their luck and came out on top scoring some blow up prizes. Kyle, James, Jordan M, Jeremy, and Jonah were determined to keep playing until they won something, but fortunately, Michael won enough prizes for all of them. For the We all enjoyed the rides, big and small.
We’re headed to Jackson for our first camping stop, and we’re super excited! With more fun to come, Californian Extravaganza signing off.
