Dear Friends and Family of California and the Canyons,
Today was our last day in San Francisco. As we began to pack up the bus with our trusted and mighty luggage crew of Jonah, Hayden, Miles, Izzy, and Rebecca, we reminisced over the past few days in San Francisco.
It was truly a remarkable few days in the Bay Area. We started our stay in San Fran off with a bang as we ventured through the intricate streets of Chinatown. The Trip Members meandered throughout Chinatown searching for souvenirs and taking in the unique architecture of the area. We feasted at the Oriental Pearl where new friendships were made over scrumptious bites of Chinese food between many of the trip members. On the way back to the hotel, the trip members finally got to listen to the incredible “Morning Mix” that was assembled by TD Charlsie.
The following day, we made our way to the notorious prison, Alcatraz. To get there, we had to board an immense ferry where Trip Members were able to take in the beautiful scenery of the Bay Area. When we made it to Alcatraz, the Trip Members were blown away by the size and history of the prison.
Shortly thereafter, the Trip Members got to have some free time to eat, shop, and hang at Pier 39. We ate sourdough bread from the famous San Francisco bakery Boudin, and then headed to Ghirardelli Square, where the Trip Members snacked on exquisite chocolates, ice creams, and cupcakes. Later that night we headed to the bowling alley where Alex bowled an unprecedented number of strikes, giving Rachel, Eden, Delilah, and myself some stiff competition.
The next day we were lucky to see a completely fog-free Golden Gate Bridge as its international orange structure shone brightly in the San Francisco sun. The trip members had the opportunity to walk the bridge as well as take in the beautiful views of the bay. That night, we saw the Oakland A’s wipe the floor with the Colorado Rockies, beating them with a score of 7-1. Trip members chowed-down on hot dogs, nachos, chicken tenders, and other ballpark food as they sat back and watched the game.
I am finishing this as we cross the Bay Bridge on our way to Lake Tahoe, which should be an absolute blast. San Francisco was incredible, and so much more excitement is on the way. Photos to come in the next day or two, so keep an eye out!
