As Major League Baseball entered the All-Star break, the Major League Madness tour made its way to Cleveland, Ohio. But first the group stopped in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. While Jeremy C. took some great pictures of the beautiful campus at UMich, David G, and David A bought some maize and blue shirts at the team store on State Street. After arriving in Cleveland, the tour made its way to have some fun playing Whirlyball. The play of the night was a full court pass from Matt S. to Dan S., who hit a great 4 point shot. The high scorer was Matt B. who easily had more than 20 points on the night.
The next day started with a trip to Canton to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame to explore the NFL’s past and present. Although every team is represented in the Hall, the New York Giants fans on tour had a lot to see. Jake R. and Kevin loved the game used (grass stained, and torn up) Tiki Barber Jersey, while Ethan M and Colin C got to see every Super Bowl ring (including Giant’s ring from beating the undefeated Patriots). After seeing over 100 years of NFL history, the baseball fans got a chance to hit the diamond for a few games of softball. Some of the highlights included a great sliding catch by Brian, a triple (near home-run) by Garrett, and a great throw-out at home plate by Jesse G. A great day was finish at the Boneyard restaurant, where a group of avid ball fans got a chance to watch the mid-summer classic, the All Star Game. Jon F., Ari G. loved watching the game on the huge projector screen while Jordan T had an unbelievable amount of fun in the video arcade.
Our third day in Ohio took us to Sandusky where Cedar Point amusement park is located. Jake G.’s favorite roller coaster was the high speed Dragster. Josh M. rode the Raptor coaster 3 times! Dan D and Giovani loved riding one the biggest coasters in the world, Millennium Force. The tour’s last day in Cleveland is going to take us to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, and a Indians baseball game at Progressive Field, then it’s off to Pittsburgh. A lot more fun activities and ballgames in store, it hasn’t even been a week into the trip!
More updates soon!
