The past few days we have been to two countries and seen an incredible amount of sights!
Annecy started off with a trip to the Burgundy region where we learned about their local culture and wine making. We explored the quaint city of Annecy. Bike tours around the lake, paddle boating and touring the town kept us very busy. The town was best experienced by foot and that’s certainly how we explored their incredible restaurants, interesting shops and scenic waterfront. We also went whitewater rafting and paddled our way through class 4 rapids. Many crepes later we all packed up and headed to Switzerland!
En route to Zermatt, Switzerland we stopped at the city of Lausanne, home to the International Olympic Committee and the official Olympic museum. After the visit and a group picture by the museum fountains, we continued on to Zermatt, Switzerland. Whether we were walking the town or skiing the summit, everyone experienced the breathtaking views that this city is world renowned for.
After a few hours of skiing we relaxed at the peak taking in the sun and enjoying the Swiss lifestyle. We ate authentic South African delicacies such as zebra and took every opportunity to expand our cultural knowledge. As we drive through the scenic roads of Switzerland on our way to Italy we are sad to say goodbye to the Matterhorn; however, we know that more
exciting travels are to come!
