Hello Parents and Friends of Cali and the Canyons,
Please, no pictures! Our trip members embodied their inner celebrity while walking down the famous Rodeo drive. Thanks to a ‘misunderstanding’, Sammy was mistakenly recognized as “that guy from that T.V show”, as ordinary people made their way to take a picture with him! As night fell, Brooke got the chance to meet one of her idols, Sylvester Stallone, or at least his handprints at the famous Grunman’s Chinese Theater.
The fast paced nature of this trip took a slight pause while we went to volunteer at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. After just 2 hours of work, we managed to feed over 20,000 meals to those in need! From the magic of a good deed, we made our way to the happiest place on earth; Disneyland! After a magical day filled with rides, characters, and a turkey leg or two, we took in the new electric parade and fireworks show in celebration of Disneyland’s 60th Diamond Jubilee. Sarah couldn’t help but belt out the lyrics to Frozen’s “Let it Go” during the fireworks.
Following the magic of Disney, we made our way to the famous San Diego Zoo. Pandas, elephants, lions and other exotic creatures greeted us with open paws. Our group even got the chance to watch a 4000-pound elephant getting a pedicure! We then ended our day with a rousing game of laser tag. Spencer and Chase each racked up huge scores on their way to leading the pink team to victory!
With just a few more days in California, our Cali and the Canyons tour will turn its attention to the Canyons of Utah and Arizona. Oh, did I forget Las Vegas? Well you all know the saying; “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”.
