Life Changing Experiences

Hello from Fabulous Las Vegas! – California & the Canyons

Hey Trip California & the Canyons Followers!

We’ve been busy this past week, beginning with our four-night stay at the UCLA campus. Once we got to L.A, we walked around Venice Beach where we ate lunch and watched performances in the street. We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the UCLA campus, using their gym facilities and basketball courts, and freshening up for our night at Hollywood and Highland. Our night started with taking pictures by the Hollywood sign, and
with our hands in the hand prints of the stars at the Chinese Theater.

We went to Universal Studios the next day – we got to ride a tour bus around the park, which gave us the opportunity to see the sets of some of our favorite movies. The tour bus was also a simulator, so we got to see King Kong, and experience what it’s like to be in a car chase in Fast & the Furious!  We spent our afternoon exploring the park and going on rides. We ate dinner at the Hard Rock Café, and ended the day at the City Walk. Our third day in L.A started with a visit to the UCLA bookstore, followed by an afternoon of learning valuable life lessons at The Museum of Tolerance. We grabbed lunch at the Farmer’s Market then walked around Rodeo Drive. Some of us were lucky enough to meet and take pictures with Derrick Rose, a basketball superstar for the Chicago Bulls! We spent the night laughing all together at the Improv, and then ate ice cream sandwiches at Diddy Riese.

Our final day in L.A was the most memorable as we spent our morning working together to sort food at the L.A food bank, then spent the rest of our day in Disneyland! We went on rides and saw some of our favorite Disney characters. A few girls on the trip were even invited to walk in a parade
earlier that day! Our night was spent watching a new parade in celebration for the park’s 60th anniversary, and watching their famous fireworks. After our long day in Disneyland, we packed our duffels and moved on to San Diego.

Once there, we went straight to the world famous San Diego Zoo to visit the animals!  While touring the zoo, we were amazed by the polar bear, giraffes, and elephants. After the zoo, we grabbed dinner, and ended our day with a couple competitive rounds of laser tag. The next morning consisted of doing laundry. It’s safe to say that we’ve become experts at washing our own clothes! After laundry, we headed straight to the beach for surfing lessons! We couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon – the sun, beach, great food and friends. We spent the night taking it easy in the Seaport Village.   So long San Diego… HELLO LAS VEGAS!

Active Teen Tour

Once we were in Vegas, we spent some time cooling off by the pool at the Monte Carlo hotel, spoiled with a wave pool and lazy river! After washing up for a night on the town, we headed towards the New York, New York hotel and even took a ride on the NY NY Roller coaster! Our second day in Vegas started with a well-deserved sleep-in, followed by some thrill rides atop the Stratosphere. A favorite amongst the group was definitely the Big Shot! We headed to the Forum Shops in Caesar’s Palace for some grub and to see the beautiful scenery, then back to the Monte Carlo for more pool time.

Our Vegas stay came to an end with a group dinner at Buca di Beppo and a scenic walking tour of some of Las Vegas’ infamous hotels. Can’t wait to see the canyons!

Next stop – Bryce Canyon!
