The group has hit the ground running in the Rocky Mountains. Four full days down, the group has already had an awesome time, and cannot wait for more to unfold! On the flight over to Denver, little did these incredible Trip Members know that they would be meeting some awesome new friends. Upon our arrival in Boulder, excitement was brewing as we made our way to the University of Colorado Boulder dorms!
What’s a better way to start the trip celebrations than with a birthday! The day that the Trip Members arrived, Gabby F. was celebrating her birthday! No birthday is complete without a sweet treat, which took the form of a deep-dish cookie from TheSink – where the whole restaurant sang and wished her a happy birthday! The Trip Members also couldn’t hold back participating in a tradition – leaving their written mark on the walls of this treasured restaurant in Boulder – the very same place which has been visited by the likes of both Guy Fierri (Diner’s Drive-ins and Dives) and President Barack Obama. After dinner we made our way to a local bowling alley in Boulder, where the Trip Members put their competitive nature to the test on the lanes, and later on the billiards table. Jared was on a hot streak during his game, where he managed to walk away with two strikes and win the game!
The next day, we were busy at the Elitch Gardens Amusement Park in Denver where Mallory stepped out of her comfort zones to try some rockin’ rollercoasters. To add to the excitement, we spent the evening at JumpStreet Trampoline Park. At the trampoline park, the Trip Members were overwhelmed with excitement of getting their sweat on while also setting a JumpStreet record for the most customers in a ball pit. Talk about an extravagant moment!
We spent two glorious days in Boulder, and alas it was time to pack our bags and hit the road to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Throughout the drive, the Trip Members had an awesome time playing games and learning about each other and the staff. This drive was particularly special, as we were celebrating the birthday of Marlee! Arriving at the campgrounds, we celebrated with a delicious birthday cake, and our first camping experience of the summer commenced. Our first full day in Jackson was highlighted by our trip to Yellowstone National Park. Here, the Trip Members got the chance to watch the world famous geyser, Old Faithful. It was a warm day, and seeing this hot spring was a certainly cool sight to see!
We packed our bags once again, on our way to Salt Lake City, Utah. However, before we left wonderful Wyoming we hit White Water Rafting to seal the deal! Expectations were high, and the experience didn’t disappoint. In particular, Victoria, Zach, and Adam dared to sit at the front of their respective boats, and faced the rapids head on!
We look forward to what comes next and the Trip Members hope you are having a great summer back home too!
Until Next time
