Greetings Loved Ones,
The time has come for the final scribe. It’s hard to believe that day 24 is upon us. The trip has flown by and it’s hard to believe that we’ve only known each other for 3 ½ weeks. The adventures we’ve shared, the memories we’ve gained and the lifelong friendships we’ve made are priceless. We have grown, we have learned and we have laughed. We have had AWESOME moments and it’s hard for each member to choose just one.
Here are just a few:
Some (of the many) AWESOME moments:
Tyler: Swimming with sea lions and turtles
Andrea: Dancing to “Danze Kudura” in the bus
Jeff: Seeing a hammer head shark
Lauren K: Tubing in the Amazon
Rachel: Getting to the top of Cotopaxi
Jackie: Swimming and surfing with sea lions
Alex: Seeing animals in the Amazon and Galapagos
Anna-Karin: White water rafting and tubing
Carter: Hiking up Cotopaxi
Bebe: Looking at Lonesome
George (last turtle of his species)
Jason: Snapping pictures
Lauren B: Dancing in the club
Haley: The bonfire in Latacunga
Olivia: Meeting the community in the Amazon
Tristan: Playing with the orphans
Jamie: Boys Night
Ryan: 6 people tubing
Cody: Playing soccer with the Scouts in the Galapagos
Peter: Getting to the top of Cotopaxi and taking a picture with Carlos
Casey: Playing with the kids in the Amazon
Meryl: Dancing on the Cheva Trucks in Banos
These experiences will stay with each of us for our lifetimes. As we move forward in life we will carry the memories.
“May the wind always be at your backs
May the sun always be upon your face
And may the winds of destiny carry you aloft
To dance with the stars.”
-Irish Blessing
May you all dance with the stars, all the days of your life.
Sending you our final smiles and gratitude,
Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands Community Service,
Nick, Jamee and Dana
