Bonjour parents, friends and family all the way from France!
We don’t even know where to begin with how amazing the trip has been and the number of crepes we’ve eaten so far.
When we first arrived, we were quickly thrown into the backpacking lifestyle, taking the train to our hotel as we looked out along the Seine. Nothing made us happier as we saw the looks on everyone’s faces as we turned the corner to see the Eiffel Tower right in front of us and then climbed up to watch the sun set over the city of lights.
What an adventure it has been to explore Paris by means of public transit, taking the metro to all corners of this amazing city to spend time marvelling at Sacre Coeur, playing games in the Latin Quarter, seeing the grandeur of the Notre Dame and much more. We can definitely say that we’ve fallen in “Louvre”!
We got to experience an amazing bike tour around the city, being taken off the beaten path to see secret gardens, cobblestone streets and hear unique stories about the city’s history.
We were staying in the charming Bercy Village, where we crowded around a public piano to watch one of our leaders play out some of our favourite songs as we sung along. Our hotel looked out onto an amazing park, where we went to play games one night and got bombarded by a group of Parisian children who joined in!
After walking along the Champs Elysees and taking many selfies with Mona Lisa, we ran around the magnificent gardens of Verseilles.
We belted out songs from Rihanna and the Lion King tonight at karaoke before taking our final Paris photos by a beautiful fountain. We were sad to leave Paris, but can’t wait to fill you in on what the French Alps have had in store! Au Revoir!
