Coming Home A Little More Tanned and Certainly More Cultured – European Experience

The final update from the European Experience.

The Westcoast Blogger

The trip has come to an end and we have said our tearful goodbyes. Lane could not have said it any better when she reminded us of how lucky we were to be walking away with great memories and even better friends! The last few days were definitely among the best. Florence was a great opportunity to put our newly learned knowledge of European cuisine and culture to test. Some explored the famous leather markets while others went to the Duomo, Florence fresh food markets and the Uffizi Gallery. A couple of campers went with Adam for dinner of their choice and had blueberry steak. They all raved it was the best meal of the trip! Others enjoyed Italian cuisine which to us never is a wrong decision, especially when you finish it off with a gelato. Then we all dance the night away at the disco that evening.

Our final night in Florence the group took part in a scavenger hunt having to do everything from find the lucky hog to serve gelato. Allie, Stephen, Layne, Ali,Rob and Nicole finished in first place and won the much anticipated prize.

Our final stop in Nice was enjoyed by some well deserved beach relaxation and of course quality time together. We all walked the city and explored the busy streets of cafes and shops. That evening we visited the renowned Monte Carlo Casino which reminded us of our amazing surroundings, letting us truly appreciate the beauty of Europe. Out group enjoyed a great dinner overlooking the water and evening landscape. Our final night was spent together on the beach as we shared our most memorable experiences and together said goodbye to what has been a summer never to forget.

Can’t wait to see you all very soon (a little more tanned and certainly more cultured) and thanks to all your warm wishes and support throughout the summer!
