Cheerio from London,
It’s only the end of day three and we’re already having a blast! After meeting everyone in the airport, we explored the area of Kensington around our hotel and got to know each other with some fun games and ice breakers. Then we enjoyed a delicious first dinner at Wagamama before heading to the London Eye. Brandon, Will, Matt and Alex snapped pictures from the top of the Ferris Wheel – everyone enjoyed the incredible views. It was a fun packed first day and everyone looked forward to spending more time in London!
The next day we had a city tour by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable professional guide. Sarah S. and Danielle sat in the front of the bus and got a huge kick out of Liz’s humor. Starting in the residential areas of Kensington and Chelsea, she shared much of the city’s history with us. A few things we saw were Prince Albert’s Hall and Memorial, the Village of Mayfair, Trafalgar Square, the clock tower which houses the famous 13.5 ton Big Ben bell and the Westminster Abbey where William and Kate got married. Stephanie P, Shelby, Sara M. and Lori stopped for coffee at a local cafe and Madison Y. snapped some pics with her new camera. Will, Mike, Ben H and Zach L. enjoyed traditional fish and chips for lunch and Emily even tasted it even though she doesn’t like fish. As they sat in the shadow of the Tower Hill Underground stop, Ben R. snapped a couple of candids of Jessica in front of the 2000 year old London city wall. After our guide took us to see the royal jewels (we saw the 530.2 carat diamond) and armor we headed to the original Hard Rock Cafe for dinner and put on our very own improv show. David, Will and Emily helped trip director Rob with “moving bodies” and the “alphabet” game followed by the “standing, sitting, planking” game, which was performed by Julian, Brandon and Rob. When we were done putting on our own show, we headed to see the live theater performance of Blood Brothers which was a great end to our evening.
Day 3 was another incredible day. After breakfast we went to Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. Zack F, Jason E, Richie, Ty and Mike braved the haunted house portion of the museum while Jess, Cassidy, Lori and Lisa posed with Marilyn Monroe and Bryan, Julian, Adam B, Alex and Jason S got a picture with Elle McPherson. Following the museum we experienced Harrods, the largest department store in the world. Is was impressive! Alyssa and Kelly were spotted tea browsing Harrod’s incredible tea and coffee room. Rachel, Carly Z, and Bari were excited to step foot in one of London’s most popular stores TopShop. We spent the rest of the day exploring other areas of London, making sure we didn’t miss a thing. We visited Buckingham Palace, Convent Garden and Picadilly Circus for some group shots and free time before ending our day at Carnaby Street for dinner. The group made a pit stop at Hyde Park for some fun. Steph B, Ben F, Tyler, Eric and Adam S enjoyed socializing and playing get to know you games.
Paris is our next destination. We can’t wait to climb the Eiffel Tower, tour the Louvre and do Karaoke.
Look for another update from us soon
