An update from European Discovery.
Bonjourno friends and families!
Our trip has arrived in Italy. Venizia was our first stop, where we enjoyed our first Italian home style meal. 3 courses of pure bliss and gelato! Sydney K, Emily and Sydney D could not stop raving about how amazing their pasta dishes were.
We took the vaparetto to the old city, where we all saw amazing views of the city. Frankie and Samantha D chose to sit outside for some breathtaking scenery of Venice, and got splashed by some Venetian water.
The next morning we returned to Venice to visit the Jewish ghetto. We saw 3 amazing synagogues and learned the origin of the word ghetto. Michelle was very interested in the tour and asked many questions about the use of the synagogues and the area. Rebecca was also inquisitive about the use of the arrondicodish.
The glass blowing demonstration was the highlight of the day. We saw how a murano glass vase and a horse figurine were shaped, molded and cooled to its glass perfection. Each piece needs to be inspected and reviewed to be sold and considered as high quality murano glass. Ilyssa and Carly thought the crystal earrings were gorgeous, while Blakely thought that the jewelry was the best part of the glass factory.
A trip to Venice is not complete, without a Gondola ride. Alexa and Avery practiced paddling their boat, while Ethan, Hailey, Sam D and Perri sang to the gondolier. Samantha Sc, Amanda, Oriella, Molly, Sarah and Sabrina thought the best way to enjoy the ride was to take pictures and soak up the architecture.
To end the night, another amazing Italian meal where the trip members were able to choose local restaurants to eat. Jonah and Melissa enjoyed the authenticity of the restaurant they chose, while Harrison enjoyed an amazing birthday dinner with all of his closest friends at the restaurant of his choice. Happy birthday in Italy is a great way to celebrate being 16!
Now we are off for some fun in the sun in Rimini, Italy. The sun was shining and the water was calm for our beach adventure time. Our trip members had the opportunity to enjoy swimming in the Adriatic sea, explore the local cuisine and visit some interesting shops in their free time. Also, we started “gotcha” a fun game to play, where the trip members receive a word/person and need to get that player to say the word. Jared kept tricking people into saying random words, and Andrew made up stories to get people out of the game quickly.
Club Life was a great time to dance and a fun time with friends. With two floors of exciting entertainment Corey H, Zach, Jordan, Daniel M and Jeffrey were definitely having a blast. Daniel K, Corey T, Adam and Daniel C would not get off the dance floor all night!
With the cool breeze, Rimini was the perfect place for our mini golf and Gelato night! Samantha Sh. got a hole in one. Anna and Erika played an exciting 18 hole game against the boys. Our trip has a very friendly, but competitive spirit. But in the end we all got the best gelato, milkshakes and crepes Rimini can offer! Sydney B, Erin, Bianca, Raimy Aja , Derek and Evan were in a great mood and enjoying their yummy treats!
Arrivederci for now.
