And so our adventure continued to the quaint town of Perugia where we got a taste of the true Italian culture (and not to mention some of their delicious food). We felt like Kings and Queens in our romantic accommodations where we traveled through a real castle to enjoy some time exploring the town. When in town, we were able to see some of the local music taking place during the Umbria Jazz festival. Noah got up to show off some of his dance moves, and the rest of the trip members shortly followed. The group then had some free time to explore the town.
After the free time, we challenged the trip members with a photo scavenger hunt which Ali, Nicole, Alex, Sarah, Emily, Al and Emma took to heart, getting all of their pictures within the first half-hour of competition. The rest of the group returned shortly afterwards, losing the challenge, but winning great memories and some pretty good photos.
Our taste buds have continued to be spoiled, especially when we prepared the most amazing lunch at the Cooking in Umbria cooking class in the Perugia country side. Logan showed off his Boy Scout skills by chopping the peppers with precision in order to make our delicious Perugian-styled bruschetta.
Our next day was off to an adventurous start where we traveled to Casa Del Longo to go for a beautiful bike ride along the lake. Emma, Valentina and Jackie particularly had a case of the giggles when they saw the group’s bicycle skills. After a short train ride home we said our final goodbyes to the town and headed for an early night to catch the morning train.
As all great times must come to an end, with excitement we were back on the road to say goodbye to the beautiful country of Italy and to embark on our next chapter in Greece.
