Well it’s been a wild and jam packed few days since my last scribe. Our 4 days in Los Angeles were spent at the UCLA dorms where we visited the bookstore, ate the breakfasts (delicious!) and got to pretend we were students living on campus. Our first day there we headed to Hollywood & Highland, The Kodak Theatre, and Mann’s Chinese Theatre where we all got to take pictures of the handprints of celebrities and see MJ’s star!!
The next morning things were in full swing starting with an amazing breakfast and followed by a day at Disney! Everyone had a great day riding rides and touring ToonTown (as we had a trip contest to see who could take the most pics with Disney Characters!!). Our day in Disney ended with an amazing fireworks show!
The next day started with some community service at the LA Food Bank. We learned about what the food bank does and who it serves and then we were put to work contributing to the community. Half of us sorted plums and the rest sorted other foods and after we were done we all felt great. Next stop was Universal Studios where we started with a backlot tour of movie and TV show sets and props. We even got to drive through the set of “Desperate Housewives” while they were filming! Then it was off to ride some amazing rides! Among the favorites were “The Mummy Returns,” “The Simpsons,” “Jurassic Park,” and “Shrek”. Everything was sooooo cool!
Next it was off to dinner at “The Hard Rock Cafe” where Julie thought she saw a famous band but it turned out to be look-alikes! Dessert was awesome! After dinner and desserts, we had some free time at “City Walk” to shop and explore.
Our last day in LA began with a visit to the Museum of Tolerance followed by lunch on the famous boardwalk at Venice Beach. With it being another beautiful sunny day in LA, we were then off to Rodeo Drive where we saw tons of cool looking cars like a Rolls Royce limo and some of the girls spotted and got acknowledged by Adam Sandler from his car! Then it was off to dinner and a show at the Hollywood Improv Club where we laughed the night away. After the show we headed to the famous “Diddy Riese” for fresh ice cream sandwiches!
We have just spent 2 days in San Diego and are heading to the port to catch our boat (cruise) – everybody is psyched!!! I’ll update you in a few days after we get off the ship!
