Hello from beautiful Banff, Alberta! The sun is shining, the sky is blue, and we are having an incredible time in the mountains!

Since we last wrote we’ve travelled through the Coast Mountains and across the Rockies!

On Day 14 we enjoyed the waterfront in Kelowna, B.C. and enjoyed the “refreshing” Lake Okanagan! Sydnie taught the boys some kayak skills while Tim and Harley made sure that no one got too hot in their boats! Matt, Eric H. and Joey played a competitive round of water frisbee, while Eric P. proved himself to be a tough competitor in an intense game of “Gotcha”! We ended the day with a healthy home-made salad bar topped off with Floridian Alex’s favorite new treat; banana boats cooked in the fire!

The following day we were up bright and early to head out onto the trails for a mountain bike ride to Sunset Canyon. Thomas showed us how to “bunny hop” over logs while Rachel and Sasha powered up the hills.

That afternoon we met up with Park Ranger Conrad to complete our service project with Parks Canada. Andres and Jonah lead the group in clearing up a wood stock site, while Harley proved to be a “trooper” when it was time to clear littler off the trails. Sydnie, Joey and Eric P. came in a close second place in the litter sweep competition. We cleaned up and re-hydrated after our service and headed into Banff to check out the town.

On our seventeenth day of outdoor adventure we went rafting on the Kicking Horse River! It was awesome! We had perfect rafting weather and everyone had a fantastic day! It was so hot and sunny that Andres, Joey, and Rachel wanted to swim in the glacier-fed river! Refreshing!

Today we went to the picture perfect Lake Louise to canoe and hike up to the Lake Agnes Teahouse! This morning the lake was glassy and perfect for a paddle to the glacier at the back of the lake. The sun stayed out and our hike up to the tea house was unbelievable! Rachel said that it felt like a walk in the park after our intense hike up the Stawamus Chief in Squamish a couple of weeks ago, and Sasha battled the altitude to reach the tea house and have a hot cup of tea with scones!

Tonight we’re in Banff where the group enjoyed ice cream and a walk through town! We’re all looking forward to a sleep in tomorrow morning followed by a hike up to Sulphur Mountain and a trip to the Banff Hot Springs for some well deserved R and R!

We hope this finds you having a great week! We miss you but we’re all healthy, safe, happy and having too much fun!!

All the best!
