Aloha Ko`u Ohana, Hello to our Family!
As we sit by the beach and reminisce on the past three weeks we have spent together we smile, and wish we could have at least three more weeks of fun together. Starting in Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Honolulu to The Big Island of Hawai’I to Kauai to our final stop in Maui we sincerely hope you have felt a part of every step our journey as you checked out our photos which were posted.
From the lights of Las Vegas to the stars in the Kona sky, surfing in Honolulu to snorkeling in Maui, every member of our trip has tried new experiences, seen wonders in nature, and had the time of their lives island hopping in Hawaii.
Since our last update, we flew to Kona which is located on the west coast of the Big Island. We enjoyed the Salt Water Lagoon while playing with many beach toys including a 2-person floating bicycle which Drew and Elisa had a blast on! We also covered a lot of ground on the circle tour of the Big Island, a day where we visited many interesting places including the Kona Coffee Museum, Black Sand Beach (yup – a sand made up totally of black sand!!), Volcanos National Park and Rainbow Falls. It was very interesting to learn about how the Hawaiian islands were created by volcanoes and still to this day continue to evolve.
Our weekend visit to Kauai was quite relaxing! We spent some time playing volleyball in the pool and quickly discovered that Molly has a killer serve in volleyball. She was hiding that weapon for most of the trip! We also toured the Fern Grotto on a river cruise and then hit up a bowling alley that evening for a night of fun competition – Zoe was loving it there!
Two days ago we boarded our last flight together as a group and landed in Maui to head straight for the beautiful Hyatt Regency Resort. We went on the most amazing Snorkel cruise yesterday and were so fortunate that the waters near our dive sites were calm and crystal clear! You must check out the photos we posted. When we got back to our hotel we washed up and then enjoyed an authentic luau dinner and show and then spent some time relaxing as a group.
Today we will be banana boating and doing some special group activities together, while looking back on the past few weeks together and smiling.
Along the way we have done many special things, and have met so many great people who will be very hard to forget… a special shout out must be made to Cousin Dwight, our bus driver in Honolulu. The friends we have all made will forever be a part of our lives and we will all be talking about the Hawaiian Spirit with smiles from ear to ear for the days and weeks and months to come. We are all so fortunate to have been able to share in this experience together and look forward to keeping in touch with our new Ohana.
A hui hou (goodbye until we meet again)
Brandon, Amber, Nathan & Shana
