The Californian Extravaganza is singing “Viva Las Vegas!”
The Westcoast Blogger
We are now in Las Vegas, and as we sit pool side at the Monte Carlo Hotel we have had time to reflect on the great time we had in San Diego. The kids are high on adrenaline and heavily hydrated and everyone agrees that one of our best days have been swimming and surfing on the beaches of San Diego. At surfing, all of our instructors and Molly, Russell, and Natalie, amongst many others actually stood up on their boards quite easily! They looked like professional California surfers! After a great day at the beach we all headed back to the hotel and got ready for dinner followed by some free time.
Next up was the San Diego Zoo where Elissa and Jackie fed the giraffes! Following the zoo, we had a quick laundry stop, had a great lunch at Soup Plantation, followed by a great battle of ‘laser tag.’
Last night in Vegas we went to the Stratosphere where we rode on the Big Shot! It was amazing to watch their anticipation build. Dillan said she was only nervous beforehand but then, “it was AMAAAZING!” Jason felt going down was scarier than going up, while Henry simply could not emphasize enough how it was the best experience of his life. Justin, Hannah, Alex R., Vika, and Tyler also enjoyed their ride over 1000 feet above the strip. After the Big Shot we enjoyed travelling along the strip to see all of the lights and huge hotels.
That’s it for now, and we’ll be in touch again in a few days.
Enjoy your weekend!
