Communication Center Monitor

New York & Montreal Offices (In-Person)
Our Communication Center Monitors are the front line of administrative operations from our office while programs are in progress. They are a critical communication link and assist behind the scenes with logistical support and problem-solving. This is a challenging and rewarding position that provides excellent experience and professional development for teachers seeking administrative positions. As well, for anyone interested in careers in the hospitality industry or social work.

Responsibilities:

  • Front-line admin support to clients and internal team members
  • Daily communication liaison between the office, various directors, and parents through phone calls and email
  • Communicate issues or concerns to the appropriate stakeholders in order to resolve problems
  • Provide extensive and various means of support to directors in the field, on a daily basis
  • Work with company management to achieve goals of providing safe and exceptional summer experiences
  • Update and maintain databases with complete, clear and concise notes
  • Confirming flight information for participants and staff, ensuring their safe arrival to our programs and back home
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other related administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong command of the English language (written and verbal)
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Exemplary phone communication skills with a service-oriented attitude
  • A good listener who is sensitive and empathetic
  • Exceptional people skills and a friendly, responsible disposition
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in various software databases (training provided)
  • Experience working with Westcoast Connection or similar experience (asset)
  • Knowledge of Google Drive (asset)
  • Willingness to work 6 days a week as needed

Occasionally, positions are available that offer the chance to work in the Communication Center for the first half of the summer, then serve as a Program Leader on a later departing program.

Duration of Employment: 4-9 weeks (depending on contract). Start and end dates are flexible, late spring and summer months (June-August).
