Jolly old England. Home of royalty, tea and crumpets, and a really great accent! We read all the Harry Potter books. We rock out to Arctic Monkeys. And we study the scientific principles of Charles Darwin and Sir Isaac Newton. England is all of these things. But it is so much more. England is one of three countries, with Scotland and Wales, that make up Great Britain and together with Northern Ireland, the four make up the United Kingdom (UK). Perhaps no other nation has had such a significant cultural and legal impact on the rest of the world. The English language is spoken by hundreds of millions of people around the world. English law, the basis for the common law legal systems of many countries worldwide. And England’s parliamentary system has been widely adopted by other nations. Sure, you’ll want to see all of England’s world-famous sites. But who knows what you’ll really discover.
