Our 37th Summer Providing Outstanding Programs for Teens

Coast-to-Coast Adventure

Breathtaking scenes and activities that will take your breath away. In Canada, the great outdoors is … pretty great. Canada is known just as much for friendliness, peacekeeping, and being polite as it is for ice hockey, igloos and the mighty moose. And for good reason. Forests, lakes and plenty of wilderness, yes. But also diverse, cosmopolitan cities, wide open spaces and a broad cultural landscape. A constitutional monarchy that still recognizes England’s royalty as its official head of state, Canada is officially bilingual, proudly multicultural and ethnically diverse, with hundreds of First Nations communities across the country. Geographically, Canada is an enormous country. It stretches from sea to sea, has the longest coastline in the world, massive mountain ranges, two million lakes, and crosses six time zones. It is just as diverse in its people, as it is in its landscape and its climate.

Fast facts
  • Canada is home to more than 35 million people.
  • Two official languages are English and French.
  • Canada is the second largest country in the world, stretching from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west, reaching north to the Arctic Ocean, and sharing the world's longest land border with the United States to the south.
  • John Cabot was the first explorer to reach Canada in 1497, but the remains of an 11th-century Viking settlement in Newfoundland are evidence of the first European presence in North America, five centuries before Columbus.
