Boston Community Service 8 Days
Although this program is not operating this summer, you can still add it to your favorites and consider it for summer 2022.
Boston is known as the Cradle of Liberty, the City of Champions or Beantown. Immerse yourself in this bustling U.S. city that is rich in history through impactful community welfare and youth leadership volunteer work. On this student community service program in Boston, teens will have the opportunity to mentor youth and provide positive guidance, and work with communities in need of family services. This Boston student tour uses a service-learning framework where our staff provides guidance and reflection on the impact of the work we do throughout the program and promotes the value of empathy and cultural sensitivity. By joining this program, you will help the community thrive.

Flight to Boston
For participants on this program, transportation is included from New York to the trip starting point in Boston. For the many travelers from outside of NY, NJ, CT or PA, we help you coordinate your flight times and greet you upon arrival in Boston.
Return Flight Home from Boston
For those flying home from Boston, our leaders will help you to check-in and remain in the airport until flights in designated times have departed. For those returning to the New York area, we include ground transportation back to New York.
Where We Stay
We carefully select clean and comfortable accommodations with the needs of our students in mind. While our volunteer programs do not stay at luxury resorts, we do know that a good night’s rest, in your own bed, is key to performing your service hours well and having enough energy to enjoy the day’s activities. For this reason, and also to maintain the close group bond and to uphold the quality of this program, we do not offer any homestays.
Meals
Eating well while away from home is an important part of a summer’s success. Breakfasts on this program are served at the University cafeteria. On the days with service, lunches are either catered boxed lunches or we go to restaurants. On non-service days you eat at restaurants. Dinners are served at restaurants or the University cafeterias.
We have satisfied the choosiest of eaters and gladly accommodate most special dietary requests including vegetarian, anaphylactic food allergies, lactose intolerance, celiac disease, and kosher style. We welcome discussing your individual requirements with you and have extensive experience in this area.
Laundry
You will only need one week’s worth of clothing as outlined in the packing list that will be sent to you prior to departure. We have the opportunity to do laundry at your convenience in our residence hall.
