Machu Picchu is celebrating its centennial anniversary this summer on July 24th (the same month our Peru Community Service & Peru Spanish Language Immersion trips are in the country)!

CUSCO RESIDENT LED FIRST FOREIGNER TO THIS INCREDIBLE WONDER

100 years ago, on July 24, 1911, Melquiades Richarte and Anacleto Alvarez, who were living in the citadel of Machu Picchu, welcomed two visitors to their home: Melchor Arteaga and Hiram Bingham*.

Since then, millions of people have visited this awe inspiring places, amazed by its mystical energy and peerless architectural beauty.
