Our final update from the Northwestern Odyssey.
The Westcoast Blogger
Dear Northwestern Odyssey Parents,
“I’ll be there for you,” sounded throughout the bus as we reached the home stretch. Joelle, our energetic food director, united the group as she lead a breakfast shop for our stay in the Jackson Hole, Wyoming; a representative from each condo filled her basket with their favorite items, ranging from cinnamon french toast ingredients to the simple, yet delicious yogurt and granola. The next morning we tackled the mighty Snake River on a white water rafting adventure; “the big Kahuna made my heart stop as I fought the cold waves,” Brian remembers.
We rolled into Park City, Utah the next day; our bus driver Frank revealing one of his many authentic hats for the region, sporting a BYU hat and SUU wristband. Park City offered two thrilling rides: the Alpine Coaster and the zip line. As Jared left his coaster seat he commented, “Wicked awesome, unexpected turns kept me clinging to my seat.” Sawyer reminded us of the zip line, “I conquered my fear of heights; I was scared at first, but it was worth it: exhilarating.” As the banquet ended and the music began, we let our hair fly as our shoes bounced along with the beat; “Best summer ever, I wish it was never ending.” Andrew R. adds, “I agree, but really… I’ll miss everyone.”
I would just like to say it has been an awesome summer; each one bolstered our group with their laughs and enthusiasm. Have an excellent rest of the summer and I hope you enjoyed reading these as much as we have enjoyed writing them.
