After Tamarindo, you’re off to the volcanic region known as Rincon de la Vieja. The Borinquen Mountain Resort features mineral mud baths, hot spring pools, a natural thermal steam room, a horse stable, the Anáhuac Spa, miles of hiking trails, restaurants and more. Get ready for adventure! During your stay, always be on the lookout for wildlife as you may spot white-faced monkeys, keel-billed toucans, and hummingbirds! Included at the Borinquen Mountain Resort & Spa are the following activities:
Enjoy an exciting ride up the mountain and through the plains with beautiful views of Guanacaste’s pacific coast. Take an invigorating hike and arrive at the Mystery Natural Waterslide and you will enjoy a thrill. Then hike on over to the hidden waterfall.
Do you have what it takes to fly over the tree tops, zipping across the canyon in front of magnificent waterfalls? This is one of the most exciting and breathtaking experiences around. The height over the jungle canopy and canyon along with the exciting speed of the zip lines will not disappoint. The tour consists of 13 platforms with incredible views all the way to the Pacific Ocean.
At the base of La Victoria Waterfall, receive a short safety briefing. Then everyone gets his or her own personal round raft for an adrenaline pumping rafting ride through the white water rapids in the Rio Negro.
Enjoy an exciting ride up through mountain trails while traversing the calm waters of volcanic mountain streams.
The tropical lagoon pool with waterfalls, wooden bridges and swim up bar can be enjoyed at your leisure. Spend the morning, afternoon, or all day at the pool!
The thermal springs with hot pools, the volcanic mud bath and the natural steam room will add to the relaxing atmosphere of this volcanic mountain retreat. You can take advantage of the curative properties that have long been attributed to mineral rich waters and mud-pots.
The Anáhuac Spa at Borinquen Mountain Resort and Spa offers the most unique and natural setting. The Zen inspired construction has been delicately situated in the middle of the forest, right over a crystalline running stream. A more enchanting spa is hard to imagine. All of the massage rooms overlook the river and the forest, and probably the most relaxing sound you will hear while enjoying a massage or treatment will be an original production staged by nature especially for you. Similarly, if you can resist drifting away and closing your eyes, the view is just breathtaking.
